You might be curious about how I managed to get a wedding dress for $100. I got it from an ad on Craigslist. I’m not sure how much it is used outside of the States, but it’s a great way to buy and sell previously loved items.
I spent months looking for a wedding dress my size and finally found one a few hours drive away. It was slightly dirty on the hem and a bit too long which my Mom took care of in about an hour.
When teaching in the states I used Craigslist to buy books for my classroom library. Then I used it again to sell the books when I moved out of the country.
Since moving to Lithuania, we’ve used Facebook marketplace to buy a few things and there’s also Skelbiu.lt. They’re great ways to buy and sell used items. It’s cheaper and more sustainable than buying new!
As I mentioned before, it takes some time to find what you’re looking for. Be patient and eventually you’ll find the perfect item! I feel like I should also mention, when meeting strangers to buy/sell, use common sense and don’t do anything stupid.
